Project Inform (“PI”) is committed to protecting the
information gathered from its members and visitors to its website
(“users”). This is done out of the interest in protecting
the personal information that identifies individuals as well as
protecting the free and anonymous access to HIV treatment and advocacy
information. You are never required to provide any personal information
in order to use the PI website.
Collecting personal information
Project Inform does not collect personal information from its members/users
without their expressed permission. PI does not sell, trade or share
the personal information of its members/users to third parties.
Storing personal information
When contributing online, PI uses a secure server and encryption
software to protect financial and personal information during transfer.
PI uses other security measures to protect against the loss, misuse
or alteration of information under our control.
Cookies
PI does not use cookies on its website. (A “cookie”
is information stored on a user’ss computer to customize the
user’s site visit in some way.)
Tracking site use and email response
PI uses software to track which pages and sections of the PI website
that users visit and which links in listserv communication are opened.
PI routinely examines this information to improve its web services.
No personal information is collected.
Receiving listserv communication
Members/users only receive listserv communication from PI if they
are a donor and have not opted out (do not contact) or have expressly
signed up to receive the communication. Listserv communication can
be in the form of the following: action alerts, treatment updates,
advocacy updates, press releases, special event notices, fundraising
appeals and volunteer opportunities.
To unsubscribe or change personal information
All PI communication, by email or US mail, provides information
on how to unsubscribe quickly and easily. You may subscribe, change
information or unsubscribe to any newsletter or communication from
PI at any time.
